I was looking at the sample questions for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test today
Level 4 was a snap….but level 3….. hm, maybe after another semester. xD
On another note, I have officially begun studying the 60ish kanji I need to learn for the Nanzan placement test. I wonder if I need to know the on’yomi and kun’yomi readings… or if just knowing the sample word/usage is good enough….
Maybe after I get the kanji and sample words/usages down I’ll go looking for other words that use the kanji.
That reminds me…. I need to go back through the Genki II kanji pages and learn the terms that aren’t highlighted that I know the kanji for…

細かいことですが、メールを受け取ったあと気にする方は気にされます。一通りおさえておくとよいかと思います。
また上から目線にならないように気をつけたいというのもあります。
例えば「特に問題ありません。」「別に構いません。」というのは目上の人には使いません。

語尾をソフトにする表現もおさえておくとよいかと思います。

最近見ているアニメの話
ヨ！
高校生の時に比べてあまりアニメを見ません。でも、今年たくさんアニメを見ていました。今日、今見ているアニメについて話したいと思います。
「あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない」
これは私の一番好きな現在放映中のアニメです。とてもかわいくて、きれいで、おもしろいです。今晩６のエピソード見られます。うれしい！見てみてください。＾＾
「装甲騎兵ボトムズ」
古いですが、とてもおもしろくて、すごいです。メカが好きだったら、これ絶対に見る価値があります。さらに、かなり有名なメカのデザイナーがデザインしました。

高校生の時、見てみましたけど、好きじゃなかった。つまらないと思いました。でも、最近見てから、とても好きです。今オタクのパロディをよく分かりますから、たぶんこれが理由です。

An update!
久しぶりですね。やっと期末試験が終わって、今は自由です。家に帰りました。夏休みが来たので、もっと日記を書けます。
今日、南山大学からメールがきました。入場料パケットをもらいました。イェイ～！＾＿＾パケットの中で、覚えなくちゃいけない漢字のリストが入っていました。
昨夜、変な夢を見ました。私が働いている図書館の下に洞窟がありました。洞窟でケータイをなくしました。さらに、走りたかったけど、行く時に、大浴場に気が紛れました。

Yesterday I returned from my sophomore year of college. My admission packet to Nanzan was waiting for me at home! I already sent back my confirmation of enrollment and some waiver. :3
They also sent me a list of the kanji to study for each level for the placement test. Yesssss. I only have about 60-something more to memorize if I want to get in the level I want. Silly Nanzan using the same textbook as my college but requiring way more kanji to be memorized.
Additionally….I plan to study the textbook that my school is using while I’m gone (Tobira) over the summer. I really have to remember to study. It’s so hard to remember to be productive in the summer. Gah!
Next I have to get a physical, buy plane tickets and send my travel itinerary to the school. I can actually buy my plane ticket now~! Yayy, so exciting. :3

Stuff has happened! My application to Nanzan was confirmed and I received my Nanzan Center for Japanese Studies program application materials. They’re really complicated… I got so excited when I started to fill them out and messed up a bunch and had to white stuff out. T^T
They ask for my schooling history since primary school. What? I can barely remember what order and what years I went to elementary school(s). Moving at age 8 complicates things, bleh.
It also asks for 6 photos of a very specific, not-passport-size ID photos. I decided to take them myself and went through hell trying to find somewhere where I could just print them in that very specific size. I hate printing photos. The art department wouldn’t let me use their fancy-shmancy photo printer, photo printing kiosks won’t just let me print the file size, and Fed Ex took forever and then didn’t even print it on real photo paper (they used some other glossy paper). I hope they (people receiving my app materials) don’t notice. xD …sigh
That and the white-out could add up to a pretty messy application… *worries*
I also got a pamphlet on all the courses. Much to my dismay, all the seminar classes I thought looked interesting are conducted in a Japanese level that I won’t be able to test into, and I’m going to have to study hard over the summer to be able to test into the level Japanese class I want to get into. It’s in this weird medium between the textbook I’m just finishing and the next one I will be learning, so I really don’t want to be “set back” to re-learning the textbook I just learned this year. That would suck so much if I came back and hadn’t earned any new credits. :/ So I’m kinda nervous about that. Gotta study lots!
That’s about it for me. I’ve kind of neglected this blog in the slow period before actually being abroad, but I’ll work on it. ^w^

きのう、敬語の勉強を始まりました。私のルームメートは「日本で、お客様は神なので、バイトで敬語を使う」と教えてくれました。アメリカで、同じじゃないかもしれません。店員よく気難しいです。私がアルバイトしていた時も、時々やさしくしてなかった。日本人とアメリカ人の性格はちょっと違うと思いますね。
今日、早く起きたり、ジョッギングしたり、バイトに行ったり（親切だった、ハハ）、ビデオゲームしたりしました。もうすぐ、日本語の会話時間に行きます。明日、フィクション文学の試験があるので、今夜勉強しなくちゃ。忙しいです。
でも今週末、社長の日のおかげで3日間の週末です。休もう！うまくいけば、私のガンプラをが完成します。
Yesterday, we started learning “keigo,” or very formal Japanese. I complained that I was never going to use it, but my Japanese roommate told me that since in Japan “the customer is god,” you do use keigo in jobs pretty often. I feel like in the US, it’s not the same. Store employees can be pretty grumpy, in my experience. Even I’m grumpy to customers sometimes at work. It must be the difference in Japanese / American natures.
Yay 3 day weekend coming up! I hope I can finish my Gunpla ^^
